Orvis Wading Staff | #1 | ||
|
Orvis wading staff with a thumb crook at the top and a "bank hook" and the end - useful for retrieving errant flies in trees. 50", 15 oz of
impregnated cane. Nice vintage item from the 50's/early 60's.

They're great and bring good money when they do appear for sale. IIRC, they were made from surplus ski poles that Orvis made for the war effort.

That's a neat staff. Does anyone remember the beautiful impregenated bamboo wading staff that Thomas and Thomas used to sell? I remember it went for $85
back in the early 1980s. I have always regretted not ordering one. I have never actually seen one outside their catalog. Does anyone have one?

I have the Thomas & Thomas cane wading staff once owned by a N.J. Doctor. A beautiful staff but its too nice to use. I keep it on display at my Adirondack
house. I paid $100.
