I just came back from a great vacation in the Florida Keys. It took a few days after that fabulous fishing to get the urge to visit my homewaters, but today
I decided to give it a go. I started to get ready to fish when I came to the realization that my fishing vest was not in the car where it usually is. I drove
back to the house to see if I had taken it out when I was preparing for bonefishing, but had the creeping sense of dread that it was gone. After thoroughly
searching my house and both cars I admitted that I will probably never see it again. That Vest has been on my back for the last fifteen years finally replacing
the one my Dad had given me when I was sixteen. I am almost positive I left it in my car when I went on my trip and someone must have taken it. I could
probably have dealt better with a stereo or fishing rod or some other item being stolen, but it is harder with something as personal as a fishing vest. All the
flies that had been given to me by friends, that I have tied, or that I have bought gone. Probably at least 30 dozen flies, leaders, tippets, floatant, my
brook trout pin, brodin net, and years of good memories stolen from me. If anyone hears anything I would appreciate you drop me a line and I hope the bastard
that took it breaks his ankle next time he steps out of the creek.
