Hello...This rod was given to me by my uncle who purchased it sometime around 1946...I was wondering what the history was on this particular rod. It is a four
piece bamboo rod (34 1/2" each section) Reel seat section is aluminum, and furrels appear to be nickel silver, with red wrappings. The only markings on
the rod are Top Flyte "T-86F" Any information would be greatly appreciated! Please see my profile for the images... [img=http://images.yuku.com/image/png/91626981d85fe0c703f2c139b647d85685498384.png]

What you have is a trade rod made by Phillipson. The pictures were rather small, so I can not verify the originality of the wrappings and ferrules. Based on your description of the ferrules and the color of the wrappings they sound correct, no tipping. You should find the rod to be a nice 5 wt. I own one and also the larger 9' rod.

I'm not so sure. The rods looks form the pictures to be a quad or four strip style rod. That would make it an Edwards trade rod.
Best to get some better pictures. Dustnstuff

I don't think it's a quad. You can see 3 flats with 60 degree angle.

My mistake. The pictures (when they appear) looked to be a 4 strip. Guess I was wrong. Rats
